Wheelchair accessable Vehicles

All of our Executive Wheelchair accessible vehicles have hydraulic lifts, to allow easy access for wheelchair users and limited mobility passengers. They can either be used just for the lift for the less mobile, or  wheelchir users can remain in their wheelchair and be securely clamped once on board.

 

All of our drivers are fully trained in the use of the hydraulic lifts and in customer care and safety.

 

These Vehicles can accomodate from 1 Clamped Wheelchair with 49 seated passengers, to a maximum of 6 Clamped Wheelchairs or 4 small Scooters with 35 seated passengers or anything inbetween.

 

All of our Accessible Vehicles have:

  • Air Conditioning

  • DVD/CD Player for your entertainment needs (you have to supply your own disk)

  • Toilet and Washroom facilities

  • PA Systems

  • Seat belts

  • Tinted Windows

 

The maximum dimensions for any wheelchair or small scooter is 700mm wide x 1200mm in lengh, the maximum weight that the lift can hold is 300Kgs which includes the wheelchair/scooter and it's occupant, plus an assistant.

 

We will accept lightweight manual wheelchairs with a maximum weight of 20Kgs, and small mobility scooters/ powered wheelchairs subject to them breaking down in to seperate parts, with each part weighing no more than 20Kgs for stowage in the luggage compartments underneath the coach.

 

The disabled passenger must be accompanied by a companion who is able to dismantle and reassemble the powered wheelchair/scooter to enable stowage.

 

We also accept officially trained and approved assistantance dogs, when accompanying it's owner or user.  Unfortunately other animals are not allowed to travel due to health and safety issues.

 

 

Please Note

 

  • Our drivers are unable to dismantle or reasemble powered wheelchairs or scooters that have been aproved for travel.

 

  • All Powered wheelchairs & scooters must operate by dry cell batteries only.

 

  • Our staff and drivers are not permitted to assist customers with their eating, drinking or personal care, at comfort stops or during the journey.  Health and safety considerations also prevent us from lifting or carrying you and providing you with medical services.
